Betty Akeredolu Shares How Changing Her Diet Helped Her Survive Cancer
Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, the widow of late Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has shared how cutting out starchy foods helped her survive breast cancer, which she was diagnosed with 27 years ago.
In a heartfelt social media post marking World Cancer Day, Betty revealed that eliminating foods like pounded yam, eba, amala, and akpu from her diet played a key role in her recovery.
She also stopped drinking Coke and other sugary soft drinks, understanding that sugar and starch can fuel the growth of cancer.
“If stopping Coke and other soft drinks, as well as swallowing eba, pounded yam, amala, and akpu, would prolong my life—knowing that starchy foods and sugar fuel the growth of cancer—so be it. That was exactly what I did,” she shared in her post.

‘Government Prioritizes Money More’ — PDP Calls Out FG On New Tax Law
It has been shared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is calling on the federal government to suspend the tax law set to take effect on January 1, 2026.
This was revealed in a statement released by Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP. He stated that this new law shows how Nigerians and the masses will be affected, arguing that the government is prioritizing finance over security and other pressing matters.
“Rather than address these issues comprehensively, the Presidency has consciously minimized them and instead insisted that the commencement date must stand, despite the discrepancies,” the party said, adding that this “clearly shows where the priority of the government lies between Nigerians and money.”
