Tems Becomes First African Woman to Own Stake in an MLS Club
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has become a part of Major League Soccer side San Diego FC’s ownership group, making history as the first African woman to hold a stake in an MLS club.
San Diego FC announced that Tems joined through her company, The Leading Vibe, as a club partner.
The club’s chairman, Sir Mohamed Mansour, expressed excitement over the partnership, highlighting her global influence and connection to Africa through the Right to Dream initiative.

She emphasized football’s power to unite people and expressed her excitement about contributing to something meaningful in San Diego, a city known for its diversity and innovation.
