Shakira Confirms Her Concert in Peru Will Go Ahead After Hospital Visit
Shakira has confirmed that her concert in Peru will go ahead on Monday, despite a brief hospital visit that led her to cancel a performance the previous day.
The 48-year-old singer was admitted to the emergency room on Saturday night, causing her to cancel the Sunday show.
However, in an Instagram post on Monday, she assured fans that the show at Lima’s National Stadium would take place as scheduled, with gates opening at 4:00 pm and the concert set to begin at 8:15 pm. No mention of her health was made in the post.
Masterlive, the events company organizing the show, also confirmed the performance would happen and promised to announce a rescheduled date for Sunday’s canceled concert.
Shakira is currently on her first world tour in seven years, called Las mujeres ya no lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore).
The tour kicked off in Rio de Janeiro just days after she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album, which she dedicated to migrants facing deportation in the U.S.
