Demi Moore Gets Emotional at SAG Awards as She Wins Best Actress

At the 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, Demi Moore delivered an emotional acceptance speech upon receiving the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role for her portrayal in “The Substance.”

Reflecting on her extensive career, Moore, now 62, recounted how obtaining her SAG card at the age of 16 profoundly influenced her life, providing it with direction and purpose.

She expressed deep gratitude towards her fellow actors, whom she credited as her greatest teachers, and offered heartfelt advice to emerging performers.

Overcome with emotion, Moore paused during her speech, reminiscing about her younger self who once lacked confidence.

“The Substance,” directed by Coralie Fargeat, is a body horror film that premiered at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim.

The narrative centers on Elisabeth Sparkle, an aging actress who resorts to a black-market drug to rejuvenate herself, leading to unforeseen consequences. She is set to compete for Best Actress at the upcoming 2025 Oscars.

In her speech, Moore also addressed past challenges, revealing how skepticism from a producer once affected her self-perception. She mentioned the transformative power of resilience and self-belief in overcoming such doubts.
