Maresca Names Cole Palmer the Strongest Player at Chelsea
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hailed Cole Palmer as the strongest player in his squad right now.
Despite struggling with a dip in form, the England international continues to push himself harder in training. Palmer, who had an impressive first 18 months at Chelsea after joining from Manchester City, is currently going through a rough patch, failing to score or assist in his last six games.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Southampton, Maresca praised the 22-year-old’s work ethic.
“When things aren’t going well for him, he trains even harder! I love that,” Maresca said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano. He also revealed that Palmer topped Chelsea’s recent physical tests.
“Every six or seven months, we do a physical test. We did one in pre-season and another last week. He was the strongest in the squad.” Palmer will now be aiming to get back on the scoresheet when Chelsea face Southampton at Stamford Bridge.
