Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has made it clear that winning the Africa Cup of Nations is his top priority.

The defender secured a bronze medal in his first AFCON outing in 2019 and came close to glory in the last edition, finishing as a runner-up after Nigeria lost 2-1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final.

Despite the disappointment, Troost-Ekong had an impressive tournament, scoring three goals and earning the Player of the Tournament award.

Now, with Morocco 2025 on the horizon, he is determined to complete the journey and lift the trophy.

“I’ve been there three times—bronze, silver—but I haven’t won it yet. That’s my ultimate goal. It means so much to me and to all the kids growing up in Africa and Nigeria,” he told talkSPORT.
