Neymar Jr. has revealed who he believes is the true king of football, and it’s not Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi.

Days after Ronaldo declared himself the greatest footballer of all time, Neymar made it clear that, for him, there’s only one king—Brazilian legend “Pelé”.

Speaking with The Grefg, the 33-year-old said, “It’s not that I didn’t want to be a king, it’s that for me there is only one king, and that is Pelé.”

Reflecting on his own career, Neymar admitted that injuries have affected his journey, but he remains grateful. “Many things happened. I had many injuries that cost me a lot, but that’s how God wanted it. I have no reason to be sad. I am very happy with my story and my life.”

After years in Europe and a stint with Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Neymar recently returned to Santos, the club where his career began. Since rejoining, he has played six matches, scoring twice and providing three assists.

While Messi and Ronaldo are often regarded as the greatest players ever, Neymar stands firm in his belief that Pelé remains football’s true king.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has said that every team brings their best when facing his side. He made the comment after PSG’s surprising 1-0 loss to Botafogo in the Club World Cup on Thursday night, a result that ended their unbeaten streak dating back to May 3.

The only goal of the match came in the 36th minute, when Igor Jesus controlled a long ball and slipped it past Gianluigi Donnarumma. Although PSG dominated possession and racked up 16 shots, they struggled to convert chances. Botafogo had just four attempts, but each one was on target, while PSG only managed two on goal.

“Teams always find extra motivation against us,” Enrique said after the match. He admitted that PSG had difficulty breaking down Botafogo’s tight defense and praised the Brazilian side’s overall team effort. “They defend together, attack together. That kind of unity is what makes a team strong, and it’s why they’re so hard to beat,” he added.

Igor Jesus fired home the only goal as Botafogo pulled off a shock 1-0 win over Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain on Thursday night at the Club World Cup.

The French giants came into the game on a long unbeaten run that stretched back to early May and had thrashed Atletico Madrid 4-0 in their opening group match. But despite dominating possession and piling on the pressure, they couldn’t break through Botafogo’s defense.

PSG were missing Ousmane Dembele, yet still managed 16 shots compared to Botafogo’s four. However, only two of those efforts tested the goalkeeper, while Botafogo made the most of their chances—every single one was on target.

The breakthrough came just before halftime. Jefferson Savarino sent a pinpoint long ball forward, and Igor Jesus controlled it brilliantly, danced past two defenders, and blasted it past Donnarumma. With two wins in two games, Botafogo now lead the group with six points.

Victor Osimhen has shared a special moment he had with football legend Cristiano Ronaldo after a Serie A match back in February 2021. Speaking during a chat with Daddy Freeze, Osimhen recalled how he patiently waited for over an hour just to snap a photo with the Portuguese star after Napoli’s 1-0 win against Juventus.

“I told him I wanted a picture,” Osimhen said. “He told me to come to the dressing room.” While trying to locate Ronaldo, Osimhen bumped into Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, who led him to the gym where Ronaldo was busy working out. “He told me to sit and wait,” Osimhen said.

“We were just talking for about 30 minutes, and Ronaldo still didn’t come out. I ended up waiting for an hour while he continued his workout.” Osimhen described Ronaldo’s physique in awe, saying the five-time Ballon d’Or winner looked no older than 25. When they finally met, Ronaldo praised Osimhen’s performance and encouraged him to keep pushing.
