Danny Welbeck Says Olivier Giroud was the Best Striker He Played With
Danny Welbeck, former Manchester United striker, has picked Olivier Giroud as the best striker he’s ever played with, leaving out Cristiano Ronaldo.
Welbeck, now playing for Brighton, previously played for both Manchester United and Arsenal. He recently scored the decisive goal in Brighton’s FA Cup victory over Newcastle.
Throughout his career, Welbeck has shared the pitch with some top-tier forwards like Ronaldo, Giroud, and Dimitar Berbatov. Speaking to Sky Sports, he reflected on those experiences.
“I didn’t get to play many games with Ronaldo, but training with him for a couple of years was incredible,” Welbeck said.
He also praised Berbatov’s quiet confidence, saying, “He knew how good he was.”
However, it was Giroud who stood out the most for him. “I loved playing alongside Olivier. We really clicked on the field. He was a top-class striker and a great partner to play with,” Welbeck added.
Liverpool have released a list of players who are confirmed to leave the club this summer.
The list includes star players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konaté. While some players are leaving, others have been offered new contracts.
The players who have been offered fresh terms include Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O’Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman, Matthew Wright, Prince Cisse, and Keyrol Figueroa.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has urged Ademola Lookman to consider a move to Galatasaray.
It can be noted that Lookman recently completed a transfer to Atlético Madrid, and since then, many European clubs have shown interest in the player.
Osimhen then shared an encouraging message to the player, stating that he would be welcome at Galatasaray.
“We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”

It can be noted that the FIFA World Cup will begin on Thursday and will be co-hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
