Chelle Says Super Eagles Could Have Scored 10 Goals Against Zimbabwe
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, believes his team could have easily scored up to ten goals against Zimbabwe in their 1-1 draw on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Victor Osimhen gave Nigeria the lead in the 74th minute with a well-placed header, but Zimbabwe leveled the score in stoppage time through Tawanda Chirewa, forcing both sides to settle for a point.
Reflecting on the match, Chelle said, “We could have scored ten goals in the first half. We made some mistakes with our finishing, and Zimbabwe defended well and slowed the game down.”
Nigeria now sits in fourth place in Group C with seven points, six behind group leaders South Africa.
