Tom Cruise Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Late Co-Star Val Kilmer
Tom Cruise has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and former co-star Val Kilmer, who passed away earlier this week at 65.
Cruise and Kilmer first shared the screen in the 1986 hit Top Gun, where they played rivals-turned-allies, Maverick and Iceman. Decades later, they reunited for Top Gun: Maverick in 2022, a moment fans cherished.
Speaking at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas, Cruise reflected on Kilmer’s impact, calling him a dear friend and praising his contributions to the film industry.
“I deeply admired his work and felt honored when he joined Top Gun and later returned for Top Gun: Maverick,” Cruise said. “He loved movies and gave so much to all of us. Let’s take a moment to remember the amazing times we had with him. I wish him well on his next journey.”
