The world’s fastest blue hedgehog is back in cinemas as Sonic the Hedgehog 3 makes its official debut. After months of teasers and excitement, fans can now dive into a brand-new chapter of Sonic’s wild journey—one that’s packed with familiar characters, unexpected alliances and a mysterious new rival.

Ben Schwartz once again brings Sonic to life with his quick wit and endless energy, while Colleen O’Shaughnessey returns as the ever-loyal Tails. Idris Elba is back too, voicing the powerful and blunt Knuckles. But it’s the addition of Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog that has sparked serious buzz. Shadow steps into the spotlight as a dark and powerful figure, adding tension and curiosity to an already intense storyline.

This time around, Sonic teams up with Tails and Knuckles to face a serious threat: Shadow. But the biggest shock? They might need help from the last person anyone would expect—Dr. Robotnik, once again played by Jim Carrey. With chaos looming and the world at risk, the unlikely team must figure out how to stop Shadow before it’s too late.

Director Jeff Fowler returns to guide the third installment, keeping the playful tone of the series while turning up the emotional stakes. The movie continues to pull inspiration from classic Sonic video games, so longtime fans will definitely notice the subtle nods and deeper references.

The film is currently showing in cinemas worldwide, with a streaming release expected on Paramount+ in the coming months. Physical copies, including DVD and Blu-ray, are set to be released mid-April 2025.
