Raphinha Matches Ronaldo’s Champions League Record with 21 Goal Contributions
Barcelona winger Raphinha has matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s Champions League record after a late goal against Inter Milan in the semi-final.
The Brazilian now shares the record for the most goal involvements in a single Champions League campaign with Ronaldo. Raphinha thought he had secured a dramatic 87th-minute winner as Barcelona led 3-2, having come back from two goals down. However, Inter’s Francesco Acerbi equalized in the 90th minute, and Davide Fratessi’s extra-time goal sealed the win for the Italians.
Raphinha exits the 2024-25 tournament with 21 goal contributions, a tally that ties him with Ronaldo, who set the previous benchmark during Real Madrid’s 2013-14 campaign. That season, Ronaldo registered 17 goals and four assists, helping Madrid to a 4-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the final to secure ‘La Decima.’
