Nigerian Singer Bright Chimezie expresses gratitude towards colleagues, Davido after he mentioned him as his source of inspiration.

During a recent interview with Hip Tv, Chimezie expressed his surprise to when he was mentioned by Davido. He then expresses thanks to the singer for recognizing him and using him a role model.

“Words cannot describe how I feel. I’m so delighted. I feel honoured. And I’m grateful to Davido for recognising that he drew inspiration from me,” he said.

“I didn’t even know that his song With You was inspired by my song Because Of English. He was the person who made me to understand that. He put a call across to me and confessed that he was inspired by my song. The humility and everything, I feel so happy about it.”

I was just watching, they did their thing. When they left, the manager turned and said ‘oya!’ then it started to occur to me that these guys, the difference is they create their own music, they make a sound and go to the studio and record and that’s how it’s done, and you are just a music man.”

“So how do I switch from music man to an artist, that was the difficult part of it and I thought it was going to be easy because I could play, I could sing…but now to create your own sound, where are you going to start from?”
