Rio Ferdinand Says He Won’t Be Shocked If Spurs Beat Man United Again
Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand has admitted he wouldn’t be shocked if Tottenham defeats his old club in the Europa League final on Wednesday night in Bilbao.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Ferdinand pointed out that Spurs have already gotten the better of United three times this season. Because of that, he feels fans shouldn’t be too surprised if it happens again.
“To be honest, I can’t predict a United result,” he told Optus Sport. “They’ve been far too inconsistent this season. Tottenham have beaten us three times already, so if they do it a fourth time, it won’t be a surprise.”
His comments come not long after he criticised United’s transfer decisions over the years and listed four players he believes the club should never have let go. He also took a swipe at the club’s recruitment since Sir Alex Ferguson stepped down.
