Barcelona star Gavi has shared his top picks for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, backing two familiar faces—his teammates Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele. In his view, Dembele deserves a spot in the top three after a brilliant season with PSG, where he played a key role in their Champions League triumph, including a dominant 5-0 win over Inter Milan in the final.

But for Gavi, the real standout is 17-year-old Yamal. He believes the young winger should take home the award, calling him a one-of-a-kind talent. “Dembele’s season has been incredible, no doubt he belongs in the top three. But what Lamine has done is on another level,” Gavi said during an interview with Catalunya Radio.

Yamal wrapped up the season with 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 matches, playing a massive role in helping Barcelona secure a domestic treble—LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup.

“They are forcing us to go back early. They are making the situation more and more difficult, more hurdles, but we’re not going to let that stop us from doing our best.”
