Lamine Yamal Takes Messi’s No. 10 Shirt and Says It’s Now His Time
Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has shared his thoughts after officially taking over the iconic number 10 jersey, once worn by club legend Lionel Messi. The young Spanish star made the remarks on Wednesday following the signing of a new long-term contract that ties him to the club until 2031.
During a special presentation led by club president Joan Laporta, Yamal expressed his pride in carrying on a legacy worn by greats like Messi, Ronaldinho, and Maradona.
“Messi laid the foundation with this shirt,” he said. “Now it’s my time. Every kid dreams of having something from players like Messi and Ronaldinho. I’ll do my best to keep that legacy going.” He also made it clear that he’s not feeling any pressure. “It’s just a new number,” he said, “but my goal remains the same.”
Manchester United have released a list of players who are expected to leave the club during the summer transfer window.
A statement from the club listed the players as Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Sonny Aljofree, James Bailey, and Malachi Sharpe.
It was noted that Casemiro enjoyed a strong season at the club and built an excellent reputation during his time with the team.
Meanwhile, Tyrell Malacia made 50 first-team appearances for Manchester United during his spell at the club.
Liverpool have released a list of players who are confirmed to leave the club this summer.
The list includes star players Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konaté. While some players are leaving, others have been offered new contracts.
The players who have been offered fresh terms include Kyle Kelly, Afolami Onanuga, Oliver O’Connor, Lucas Pitt, Ben Trueman, Matthew Wright, Prince Cisse, and Keyrol Figueroa.
Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has urged Ademola Lookman to consider a move to Galatasaray.
It can be noted that Lookman recently completed a transfer to Atlético Madrid, and since then, many European clubs have shown interest in the player.
Osimhen then shared an encouraging message to the player, stating that he would be welcome at Galatasaray.
“We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”
