Tems Hits One Billion Streams with “Wait For U” on Spotify
Tems has officially joined the Spotify Billion Club after her hit collaboration with Future and Drake, Wait For U, crossed one billion streams on the platform. The Nigerian singer, who already has a Grammy to her name, received the special Spotify plaque in recognition of the milestone.
With this, she stands alongside other Afrobeats stars like Wizkid, Rema, and Tyla who’ve also reached the billion-stream mark. Wait For U not only earned Tems her first Grammy win in 2023 for Best Melodic Rap Performance, it also made history in 2022 when it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first African artist to do so.
