Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles 2 Is Out Today on All Platforms
Demon Slayer: Hinokami Chronicles 2 officially launches today, August 5, bringing fast-paced action and fan-favorite characters to players on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The sequel, developed by CyberConnect2 and published by SEGA, is an exciting follow-up to the first game and is already generating major headlines. It builds on the success of the original with more characters, more storylines, and more refined gameplay.
Players now have access to over 40 playable characters, including all the Hashira and powerful Upper Rank demons. This gives fans a deeper and more strategic experience. New features like tag-team “Dual Ultimate” attacks, character-specific training paths, and enhanced VS modes add even more variety to the game.
The story mode follows key arcs from the anime, including the Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, and Hashira Training arcs, letting players fight through major moments from the show. There’s also a recap feature that revisits storylines from the first game for anyone who wants to catch up or relive earlier battles.
Customization and character progression are more detailed this time. You can level up fighters, unlock alternate outfits, and earn visual extras like profile backgrounds and stickers. A new gear system also lets players equip items that provide health boosts, buffs, and other effects during battles.
Two editions of the game are available: a standard version and a deluxe edition with early access, extra costumes, and special character unlocks. There are also bonuses for fans who played the first Hinokami Chronicles game or Demon Slayer: Sweep the Board.
