Genie, Make a Wish: Kim Woo-bin and Suzy Reunite in New Fantasy Rom-Com
Netflix is bringing fans a magical treat with the upcoming fantasy romantic-comedy series. The series, Genie Make a Wish, is set to premiere on October 3, 2025. It reunites beloved actors Kim Woo-bin and Suzy, who previously charmed audiences in the 2016 hit drama Uncontrollably Fond.
The story centers on a genie, played by Kim Woo-bin, who awakens after a thousand years. Suzy stars as Ga-young, a woman who has long kept her feelings to herself. Their paths cross when Ga-young discovers a mysterious lamp and accidentally releases the genie. He offers her three wishes, but each wish brings unexpected twists.
The series is directed by Lee Byeong-heon, known for the hit film Extreme Job, and written by Kim Eun-sook, the acclaimed screenwriter behind The Glory and Goblin. Supporting the lead duo are Ahn Eun-jin as the enigmatic Mi-joo, Noh Sang-hyun as Soo-hyun, the genie’s brother and rival, Ko Kyu-pil as Sayyid, the genie’s assistant with a secret jaguar form, and Lee Zoo-young as Min-ji, Ga-young’s loyal friend.

Nigerian singer, Peter Okoye from the former duo P-Square, shares his greatest fear. During a recent interview, the singer spoke about his fears and revealed that he is not afraid of death.
Instead, he said he is scared of poverty and has this fear because he has experienced it before. “I am not afraid of death. The only thing I am afraid of in this life is poverty, of being broke.
“I have tasted it [poverty] before. I have been in our house with my parents and siblings, and a bulldozer came and demolished it.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, makes headlines for his gesture of goodwill. It can be noted that during the afternoon performance, the singer paused for one minute of silence to honor his colleague Wizkid’s mother.
The singer paused during his performance and said “Personally, I have lost many loved ones, people close to me, so I understand how Wizkid is feeling right now. May his mother, our mother because she was dear to me, rest in peace.”
This gesture touched many fans, as they were in awe of the singer showing a kind heart despite the usual rivalry between their fan bases.
