BTS member Jimin has once again left his mark on pop culture as the popular slang word “delulu,” which he often playfully used, has officially been recognized in the Oxford English Dictionary.

“Delulu” is short for “delusional” and is widely used in online fan spaces to describe lighthearted fantasies or overly imaginative thoughts, especially in K-pop communities. Fans often use it in a fun and non-serious way, and Jimin’s consistent use of the term helped push it into the global spotlight.

The Oxford English Dictionary recently updated its list of new words, and “delulu” made the cut, a move that many see as proof of how internet and pop culture slang continues to influence language at the highest level.

Fans flooded social media after the dictionary announcement, celebrating with posts like, “Jimin is truly a cultural icon,” and “Only Jimin could make a word like ‘delulu’ go this far.”
