South Africa captain Ronwen Williams has stressed the importance of taking all three points when Bafana Bafana face Nigeria in their crucial World Cup qualifier on Tuesday night at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Coach Hugo Broos and his men currently lead Group C with 16 points from seven games, while Nigeria sit in third place with just seven points from the same number of matches. A win for South Africa could seal their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, depending on results elsewhere in the group.

Williams, who also plays his club football with Mamelodi Sundowns, made it clear that the team’s focus is firmly on Nigeria rather than other fixtures. “The most important thing is to get the job done. We don’t want to rely on favours or other results, we want to take control and do it our way,” the goalkeeper told Safa.net.
