Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, speaks on her record-breaking moment and how she felt when the pot broke.

It can be recalled that the chef recently attempted to break the record for the largest pot of jollof rice, which was later acknowledged by the Guinness World Records.

During a recent interview, the chef expressed her concern when the pot broke and the fear she felt “When we had the mishap with the pot, in those first few seconds, my heart was in my hands. I was very scared, very worried.”

She added “For me, the record was not the most important thing. What mattered was that people got to taste and enjoy the food we had spent hours making. I would say it was a good thing that the pot caved, because it made food distribution a lot easier… it was a blessing in disguise.”
