Reality Star Uriel Oputa Speaks Out Against Motherhood and Body Shaming in Nigeria
Nigerian reality star Uriel Oputa expressed her disappointment with Nigerians who shame women over their curves, motherhood, and reproductive health.
The reality star took to social media to speak on this after the public started shaming women who have babies or embrace their motherhood, judging them and comparing themselves by saying they didn’t do such things in their own motherhood journey.
“So what if a woman brings a child into the world? Instead of celebrating life, people start comparing, saying things like, ‘When I was breastfeeding, I didn’t do this,’ or ‘Why didn’t she do that?’ Everyone’s story is different. Even siblings from the same parents aren’t the same.”
