Oscars 2026: Sinners Leads With Record-Breaking 16 Nominations
It has been noted that the Oscars are drawing near for 2026, as Hollywood has officially released its nominations from the past 12 months.
The movie with the highest number of nominations is Sinners, with a total of 16 nominations, while One Battle After Another follows closely with 13 nominations.
This also marks a world record for Sinners, making it the most-nominated film in Oscars history, with recognition across categories such as Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Song, Best Original Score, Best International Feature, Best Animated Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Costume Design, Best Make-up and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Sound, Best Film Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Best Live Action Short, Best Animated Short, Best Documentary Short, and Best Casting.

“Did anyone beg you”- Falz Criticises Government’s ‘Pressure’ Comments
Nigerian rapper Falz has reacted to comments made by Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, regarding the pressure of governing the country.
It can be recalled that the First Lady said young Nigerians should support the government, adding that those in leadership are under pressure.
Reacting to her remarks, Falz said “What do you mean, pressure on the government? Did anyone beg you to take up this work?
“If I remember clearly, the campaign slogan for this current administration was ‘Emi Lokan.’ Do you know what that translates to in English? It is my turn. I’ve never seen anything more absurd than that in my entire life.”
