Chef Smith Admits Fake Guinness Record, Faces Fallout

Ghanaian chef Ebenezer Smith, also known as Millennium Chef Smith, recently admitted to forging a Guinness World Record in a cooking marathon and expressed deep remorse for his actions during an interview with GHOne TV. Smith, who claimed a record-breaking 820-hour cook-a-thon, was exposed when Guinness World Records confirmed the certificate he presented was fake.

He confessed that desperation for recognition and a stable livelihood drove him to commit the fraud, despite knowing the ethical and procedural requirements of Guinness World Records. Smith acknowledged the disappointment he caused to Ghana, his loved ones, and sponsors, expressing profound regret and a sense of unworthiness to continue living due to the severity of his deceit.

Residents of Lagos should prepare for traffic disruptions as several roads will be closed due to the visit of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is set to commission infrastructural projects.

The commissioning will take place on April 8 and 9, 2026.

Affected areas on Wednesday (April 8):
Opebi, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Ojota, and Victoria Island.

Affected areas on Thursday (April 9):
Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and Ajegunle.

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect heavy traffic during these periods.
