Father Allegedly Beats Son to Death with Shovel in Lagos, Police Investigates

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has officially acknowledged the tragic death of a 19-year-old young man allegedly at the hands of his own father.

According to reports received by the Alagbado Police Division on Tuesday, the incident unfolded when the father, identified as Olumide, reportedly inflicted a severe injury on his son, Adeyemi, using a shovel during a confrontation over unspecified reasons.

Initially treated at a local hospital, Adeyemi’s condition worsened, prompting his transfer to General Hospital Ikeja.

Tragically, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to complications arising from tetanus infection, as confirmed by attending medical personnel.

Upon receiving the report, detectives promptly visited the scene to gather evidence and initiate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As of now, the case remains under active investigation as authorities seek to ascertain the full details and motives behind this heartbreaking incident.
