FA Begins Search for Successor to Southgate with Goal of Winning Major Tournament
The Football Association is actively searching for a new England manager after Gareth Southgate’s resignation following the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain.
The FA has identified several potential candidates, including Eddie Howe, Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, and Ange Postecoglou.
The next manager must be capable of winning a major tournament and consistently ranking among the world’s top teams.
The role demands a UEFA Pro Licence, extensive experience in English football, and strong leadership qualities. Applications are open until August 2.
It has been reported that Bola Ahmed Tinubu was absent at the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge, which took place on April 8, 2026.
However, Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President and carried out the ceremony.
As he commissioned the project, he stated “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I commission these projects.”

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect heavy traffic during these periods.
