BNXN Slams Lagos Boat Ride Industry for Exploitation and Safety Issues
In the latest episode of Backstage Banter, hosted by Isi Ijewere in Canada, singer BNXN discussed the high costs and poor safety standards of boat rides in Lagos. When asked about the cost of a boat ride from Lekki to Ilase, he highlighted the exploitation within the industry, noting that companies charge exorbitant fees for boats that can’t safely accommodate the advertised number of passengers. He expressed frustration over the lack of life jackets on some boats used by those who pay much less.
BNXN also discussed the disparity in safety standards, pointing out that while some people pay high fees for boat rides, others risk their lives on cheaper, unsafe boats without life jackets. He emphasized that the exploitation and lack of proper safety measures are major issues in Lagos’ boat ride industry.
When asked about Burna Boy’s influence on his craft, BNXN praised Burna Boy’s unique personality and talent. He recalled discovering Burna Boy in 2013/14 and being impressed by his forward-thinking music. BNXN highlighted that the public’s perception of Burna Boy differs from the warm and approachable character he displays in private, solidifying his status as a legendary and talented artist.
Nigerian singer Timaya has spoken about elections, urging Nigerians to think carefully about their choices and the longer-term consequences of their votes.
Speaking on the state of the country, he said Nigerians have choices and should be intentional about them.
“Nobody dey advise anybody. If na wetin you dey find to chop now put for your pocket, na your business. No be one day o. Na another 4 years of hardship. If you know what’s good, you have to vote right.”
“I dey travel abroad dey see wetin dey happen na. Rich people dey abroad dey no dey stay for Nigeria, these politicians. Dey just dey work for Nigeria.”
Nigerian singer Rema has sparked reactions online after revealing the streamers he watches for entertainment.
The singer shared a list of popular streamers he follows, naming Enzo, Fanum, Agent, Kai Cenat and Okiki.
“The only streamers I fvck with are Enzo, Fanum, Agent, Kai Cenat, and Okiki.”
After he mentioned his list, Nigerians reacted and shared how some notable Nigerian streamers were not on the list, with many calling out their favourites for not being recognised by the singer.
Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn has made headlines after calling on his colleague, Blaqbonez, for a possible collaboration.
The singer Young Jonn took to social media and excitedly shared “I need like 5 bad friends way we go dey move in bulk!” Young Jonn wrote.
Blaqbonez then replied, wanting to join: “Oya, make we dey together, sing as one.”
The singer replied with an old post from 2015 that said, “Go sing as one with Coublon.”
