Davido, Ayra Starr, and BNXN were featured performers at the recent Blastfest, held on July 27, 2024. The Seattle music festival showcased an Afrobeats-heavy lineup, highlighting the growing global appeal of Nigerian pop music. Davido, joined by South African artist Musa Keys, performed their Grammy-nominated hit single ‘Unavailable’, while Ayra Starr delivered a dynamic set from her latest album, ‘The Year I Turned 21’. A viral clip of Ayra Starr serenading a fan captured the excitement of her performance.
BNXN also captivated the audience with his popular singles, including ‘Gwagwalada’, at the sold-out concert attended by thousands. This year has been eventful for Nigerian artists, with significant international exposure and success.
In addition to Blastfest, Davido headlined the Tribesville Music Festival in Houston, Ayra Starr performed at C6 Fest in São Paulo, Brazil, and recently joined Chris Martin on stage at Coldplay’s concert in Rome. Nigerian actor and comedian Bovi Ugboma speaks and reacts after discussing the topic of parents not encouraging dating yet expecting marriage.
He shared this in a recent interview about relationships.
“Most parents, you no wan hear your pikin get boyfriend but when they reach a certain age, you’ll be asking them bring husband. Why have you not brought husband? Where dey wan see husband from?”
Many agreed with his take as they reacted to it. He added “We criminalize the dating culture in Nigeria and now we’re wondering why marriages are breaking,” he stated.

Actor Kunle Remi Calls Out Ongoing Election Campaigns Amid Insecurity
Nigerian actor Kunle Remi laments and shares sadness over the current state of the country regarding security.
He shared that Nigerians are not reacting enough to these news stories and that the human suffering is becoming too much.
He took to social media and called on people to think about what is really going on in the country and how election promotions are still going on despite the insecurity that no one is doing anything about.
“As I settle in for the night, I can’t help but think… As you go to bed tonight, remember there are children sleeping in forests… imagine the cold, the bugs, the fear, the discomfort. Remember there is a mother holding her baby, helpless. Parents praying for safety. Schools living in fear.”
“And somehow, in the middle of all this… election campaigns and preparations still continue. Bloggers are posting elections like everything is normal.”

Nigerian reality star Kiddwaya claims that his father had a role in the democracy of Nigeria.
