In a recent interview with Revolt, Nigerian singer Young Jonn shared that his career as an artist was not part of his original plan but rather a twist of fate.

Jonn, who began his professional journey as a music producer, revealed that his transition into the world of singing was more accidental than intentional.

I never actually set out to become an artist,” Young Jonn admitted. “It just happened as life unfolded.”

Reflecting on his shift from producing to performing, he described it as a challenging learning curve.

The switch from producer to artist involved a significant adjustment. It’s an entirely different game, requiring a new hustle, grind, and understanding of the industry.”

Despite the difficulties, Jonn expressed that he is gradually mastering the art of being a performer.

He credited influential figures like Olamide, Kizz Daniel, and Lil Kesh for their inspiration during his journey.

Early in his career, Jonn collaborated with Olamide’s YBNL Nation, producing numerous tracks for Olamide, Lil Kesh, and other artists associated with the label, which helped lay the groundwork for his eventual foray into singing.
