Chelsea Sign Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal
Chelsea have signed 22-year-old goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal for £20.7 million on a seven-year contract. The Danish keeper made 37 appearances for Villarreal last season as their first-choice goalkeeper.
“This move is a dream come true,” Jorgensen said. “I am very excited to have signed for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
I can’t wait to get to know everyone and to start playing with all my new teammates.”
Jorgensen, who will compete for the number-one spot with Robert Sanchez, was born in Sweden and represented the country at youth level before switching allegiance to Denmark Under-21s.
He joined Villarreal at 15 and made his senior debut in October 2020. Jorgensen has joined Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the United States.
It has been reported that Bola Ahmed Tinubu was absent at the commissioning of the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge, which took place on April 8, 2026.
However, Senate President Godswill Akpabio represented the President and carried out the ceremony.
As he commissioned the project, he stated “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I commission these projects.”

Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes and expect heavy traffic during these periods.
