Manchester United are currently in discussions with AS Monaco regarding the acquisition of Youssouf Fofana, according to reports from Sky Sports.

The English club is assessing the feasibility of signing the 25-year-old midfielder, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Ligue 1 team.

Since joining Monaco in 2020, Fofana has made 175 appearances and scored seven goals. United are exploring various midfield targets as part of their transfer strategy.

Other players under consideration include Richard Rios from Palmeiras, Sander Berge of Burnley, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, and Sofyan Amrabat, who was on loan with the club last season from Fiorentina.

Additionally, Manchester United continues to monitor the situation of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain, though they are currently deterred by the high transfer fees being demanded.
