What will be, is already destined…

I lost myself but found my purpose

Every day, I know I’m blessed…

Life has its trials; this is just how it is,” he sings.

Jane Morayo Balogun, Wizkid’s mother, passed away on August 18, 2023, in London. On what would have been her birthday, July 4, Wizkid reflected on his immense loss, stating that his life feels incomplete without her. He expressed that he misses her dearly and that his heart remains broken.

In her memory, Wizkid has announced a forthcoming album titled “Morayo,” named after his mother’s middle name, to honor her legacy and the profound influence she had on his life.
