Olagboye Precious, a Nigerian girl who was previously trapped in a Libyan prison, has finally regained her freedom. The news was shared by anti-human trafficking advocate Yakubu Hope Oyiza, who herself was once imprisoned in the war-torn country.

Oyiza, who returned to Nigeria in 2017, revealed on Facebook that they have successfully located Precious’s mother, who hails from Ondo State.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) disclosed in August 2024 that it has facilitated the return of nearly 298 Nigerians from Libyan prisons as part of an ongoing repatriation exercise since last year.

Oyiza continues to advise against traveling to Libya, highlighting the risks of trafficking and imprisonment in the country.
