Plymouth Signs Michael Obafemi on Season-Long Loan from Burnley
Plymouth Argyle has officially confirmed the signing of Michael Obafemi from Burnley on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international, who had limited playing time with Burnley, making just two appearances, will spend the remainder of the season with Plymouth.
Obafemi initially joined Burnley on a permanent deal from Swansea City last summer but found opportunities to feature regularly in the first team scarce.
Now, he will look to reignite his career with Plymouth, under the guidance of head coach Wayne Rooney.
Rooney expressed his excitement about securing Obafemi’s services, highlighting the player’s enthusiasm to join the team. “We are thrilled to have Michael on board,” Rooney said.
“He was very eager to be a part of the project we are building here at Argyle. His profile as a player aligns perfectly with what we need, and he fits into the style of play we are looking to implement.”
The move is seen as a significant opportunity for Obafemi to showcase his talent and make a meaningful impact, while also helping Plymouth push forward in their campaign.
With his pace, experience, and goal-scoring ability, Obafemi is expected to add strength and depth to the squad.
