Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, has tragically passed away. His death occurred on Thursday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja.
According to reports from *The Nation*, Ayilara had undergone surgery for prostate cancer on Wednesday, just hours before his untimely demise.
The details surrounding his health suggest that his condition may have worsened following the procedure, leading to his passing the next day.
A family member, while expressing their grief, shared the news, stating, “We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beloved friend, brother, and family member, Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State.”
His death has come as a significant blow to his family, colleagues, and the police force, where he was held in high regard for his dedication and service to the people of Akwa Ibom State.
