Watford and Samuel Kalu Part Ways After Contract Termination

Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu’s contract with Watford has been officially terminated by mutual consent. The Championship club announced the decision on August 31, marking the end of Kalu’s stint at Vicarage Road.

Kalu, who joined Watford from Bordeaux in January, struggled with injuries and form, making only 13 appearances without registering any goals or assists.

After a loan spell with Lausanne-Sport, where he showed promise, both parties agreed to the termination, leaving Kalu as a free agent ready for a fresh start.

Sanwo-Olu Declares August 20 Public Holiday in Lagos for Isese Festival

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared Thursday, August 20, a work-free day for public servants in the state to mark the Isese Festival.

Speaking on the celebration, he said “Ìṣẹ̀ṣe is not a relic. It is a living expression of our traditions and a celebration of Yoruba spirituality as an important part of Nigeria’s cultural and religious landscape,” he said.

He added “When the drums sound in Lagos on Thursday, they answer drums in Havana, in Salvador, in Port of Spain. Fifty-five million people and counting. Lagos is not observing a local holiday. Lagos is standing at the centre of a global heritage,” Aregbe said.

Omoyele Sowore speaks on the NDLEA after its action of destroying cannabis farms in Edo State.

He shared “It is idiotic that NDLEA put on uniforms, march into farms, and set economically viable crops worth millions of dollars ablaze while your country is drowning in multidimensional poverty.”
