Benin Defender Mohamed Tijani Out for Nigeria Clash
Benin Republic’s Cheetahs will be missing key defender Mohamed Tijani for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria due to an ankle sprain sustained during training. Reports from the Cheetahs camp confirm that Tijani will not participate in the match, but the medical team is working to have him fit for their next game against Libya on Tuesday.
Tijani, who played a crucial role in Benin Republic’s 2-1 win over Nigeria in June, will be a significant loss for head coach Gernot Rohr. The Cheetahs are set to face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.

Dwight Yorke Slams Ten Hag’s Man United
Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has criticized manager Erik ten Hag and the team’s style of play, expressing doubt about their chances of winning the Premier League under his leadership.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Yorke said, “We’re far from winning the Premier League. After Ten Hag’s first season, we believed he could lead us forward, but that hasn’t happened. Yes, we won the FA Cup last season, but that doesn’t make us a strong team. The way we play, our league position, and our goal stats are the worst in the club’s Premier League history since 1992.”
