Deadly School Shooting in Georgia: 14-Year-Old Suspect in Custody

In a tragic turn of events on Wednesday, a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including two teachers and two teenage students.

The incident unfolded when a 14-year-old shooter, identified as Colt Gray, opened fire on the school grounds, causing chaos and grief in this southern U.S. community.

The victims have been named as Christina Irimie, 53, and Richard Aspinwall, 39, both dedicated teachers at the school.

The teenage students who lost their lives were Christian Angulo and Mason Schermerhorn, both 14 years old.

The shooting also left nine others injured, including a teacher and eight students, who are reported to be in serious condition.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) provided details about the incident during a press briefing on Wednesday night.

They revealed that Colt Gray, who is a student at Apalachee High School, was apprehended by law enforcement officers within minutes of the shooting.

Gray is now in custody and faces charges of murder. Given the severity of the crime, he will be tried as an adult.

The shooting has deeply shaken the community, and the authorities are working diligently to address the aftermath and ensure justice is served.

The GBI confirmed that Gray was expected to be formally booked on Wednesday night, marking a sombre day for the school and the broader community.
