Peter Obi Expresses Deep Sadness Over Yobe State Killings
Yobe State, Nigeria – Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, has expressed his deep sadness over the recent killing of innocent civilians in Mafia Village, Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The tragic incident, which saw several people brutally murdered, has once again highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the country.
In a statement, Obi condemned the horrific violence, calling it a “stark reminder” of the seriousness of Nigeria’s security challenges.
He emphasized that the continuous loss of innocent lives through killings, maiming, and displacement is a clear indication that the nation’s security framework is failing.
“We must acknowledge this reality and take bold steps,” Obi stated. He reiterated his long-standing stance on the need to declare war on insecurity before it spirals further out of control.
According to him, the current security architecture requires a paradigm shift to effectively address the growing threat to the lives and safety of Nigerians.
The tragic killings in Yobe State have once again brought the country’s ongoing struggle with insecurity to the forefront, with many calling for urgent reforms and actions to ensure the safety of citizens.
