Nigerian Afrobeats star Patoranking is mourning the tragic loss of his sister, Chioma, who died in a gas explosion that occurred at her home.

According to reports, the explosion claimed her life instantly, while her husband, George, succumbed to his injuries days later on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

The heartbreaking news was shared by media personality Cutie Juls via Instagram on Thursday.

In a post, she included a video showing the aftermath of the explosion at the family’s home, revealing that the tragic incident happened shortly after the family had celebrated a housewarming and their child’s birthday.

Cutie Juls also highlighted the efforts made to save George, mentioning that Patoranking went to great lengths to help, including purchasing large amounts of blood in a desperate bid to keep his brother-in-law alive.

Unfortunately, despite the attempts, George did not survive, leaving their child orphaned.

The singer’s deep bond with his sister was well-known, and this loss has hit him hard.

Cutie Juls expressed concern for Patoranking’s well-being, urging his friends to rally around him during this difficult time.

As of now, neither Patoranking nor his management has made any official statement regarding the devastating incident.

The tragedy has left fans and loved ones in shock, with many offering their condolences to the grieving family.

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has alerted Nigerians residing in flood-prone areas to relocate, following the release of water from Cameroon’s Lagdo Dam into River Niger and River Benue.

The release, which began on September 18, 2024, poses flood risks to 11 states, including Adamawa, Kogi, Benue, and Bayelsa.

NIHSA urges individuals to clear drainages and avoid floodplains. This comes days after severe flooding in Borno killed over 30 people.
