Residents across Edo turned out in large numbers to vote, and Davido has been vocal on social media, accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of malpractice.

Addressing questions about his interest in the election, despite not being from Edo, Davido explained that his late mother, Imade Veronica Adeleke, was originally from the state. A Mississippi teenager has been sentenced to life in prison for the March 19 shooting of her mother, Ashley Smylie, and the attempted murder of her stepfather, Heath Smylie.

The girl, 14 at the time, was also sentenced to 10 years for tampering with evidence. Prosecutors argue that she ambushed her parents using her mother’s gun.

Her defense cited mental health issues, including depression and hallucinations, but the jury found her aware of her actions at the time of the crime.
