Central Bank of Nigeria has taken away Heritage Bank’s permission to operate because the bank has had money problems for five years and couldn’t recover bad loans. Yemi Cardoso, who leads the Central Bank, decided it was time to do this.

Many customers of the bank are upset. Mercy Eke, who won money on the Big Brother Naija show, is one of them. She was told to put her prize money, which is a lot (over ₦100 million), in Heritage Bank. She didn’t know the bank was not doing well.

The NDIC, which protects bank customers, says people with N5 million or less in their accounts will get their money back in one week. But people like Mercy Eke, who have more money saved, will have to wait until the bank sells its things to get their money back.

This news is a big reminder for everyone to be careful with their money and always know how safe their bank is. If you have money in Heritage Bank, you should talk to the NDIC to know what to do next.

Nigerian singer Ycee reacts to the viral and trending akara skits that emerged after the advice given by the First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu.

It can be recalled that the First Lady shared that Nigerians can fight unemployment by going into the akara or corn business to sustain themselves in the current economy.

Following her comments, content creator Gilmore made a skit about selling akara, to which Ycee reacted “To all of you yelling ‘satire.'”

“The entire idea of satire as a literary device is to use humor, be entertaining, while also criticizing and exposing the issue at the base of the content. Portraying ‘akara selling’ as a lucrative business where you’re taking payment in Solana and ETH, patronizing Polanco and shopping at HF, etc… where is the said ‘satire’ that you all are screaming?”
