Tems has expressed that there should be no strict guidelines on how artists dress. In a recent interview with Essence Magazine, she emphasized that artists should embrace their unique styles, as individuality is what makes each person special. She elaborated that her fashion choices reflect her authenticity rather than an attempt to project a specific image.

“You should always be true to yourself, even if others expect something different. When you stay true to who you are, you naturally succeed, regardless of how you present yourself. That’s the beauty of diversity.

“We are all different and aren’t meant to be the same. While there may be standards, there shouldn’t be a fixed rule on how artists or women should dress.

“I believe everyone is unique. There shouldn’t be any expectations or requirements for dressing a certain way.”
