Salah Becomes Highest African Scorer in Champions League History
Mohamed Salah has made history as the highest-scoring African player in the UEFA Champions League, with 45 goals. The 32-year-old Liverpool forward achieved this remarkable feat during Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Bologna on Wednesday, September 2, netting his 45th Champions League goal in the 75th minute.
Salah’s goal secured a crucial victory for Liverpool and cemented his place in football history, surpassing Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba, who previously held the record with 44 goals, and Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o, who sits in third with 35 goals.
In addition to this milestone, Salah has also set new records, becoming the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League games at Anfield and the first to score and assist in nine Champions League matches for an English club.

Peter Obi Criticises President Tinubu’s Statement on Hunger
