on

A man was caught attempting to steal two clothes from a laundry when no one was at the reception.

Neighbours apprehended him as he tried to hide the clothes in a bag of stolen items.

During questioning, the man’s story kept changing. At first, he claimed to be a tailor, then said he was unemployed, and later claimed he was an okada rider.

After being beaten by some residents, he finally confessed to having been a patient at a psychiatric hospital.

During the search, neighbours found a purse filled with money and a faceless ID card in his pocket, raising further suspicion about his activities in the area.

The community is advising residents to stay vigilant as thefts have been occurring in broad daylight, and the neighbourhood has been a long-standing target for such crimes.

The one that is collecting tax without doing anything will come and share you rice and semolina. The one that is collecting ransom is doing giveaway on social media.”
