Wizkid: Puma Picked Davido Because I Was Too Expensive

Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid has explained why fashion brand Puma opted for Davido instead of him. In a recent social media outburst, he addressed claims that he was frustrated and jealous over Davido’s new deal with Puma, following an ongoing rivalry between the two artists.

Responding to a video by user @Nelson Epega, Wizkid stated in a viral post on X that he turned down Puma because they couldn’t meet his financial demands. He wrote, “You idiot! I declined Puma because they couldn’t afford me; I wanted more! I don’t need that! I’m way bigger than every artist you mentioned! Not jealous! Love them all. With your dirty-ass shirt! Idiot!”

He clarified, “Puma is a big brand, but the budget they had for Africa wasn’t sufficient for me! It worked for your client, though!”
