The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has congratulated Monday Okpebholo on his victory as the Edo State Governor-elect.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje described Okpebholo’s triumph as well-deserved and a clear reflection of the trust the people of Edo have placed in the APC’s leadership.

Ganduje noted that this victory symbolizes the confidence the electorate has in the progressive vision of the Bola Tinubu-led administration.

He emphasized that Okpebholo’s success was a result of the faith placed in his ability to lead Edo State toward a brighter future.

The chairman also highlighted the hard work and determination of APC members and supporters who played crucial roles in ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election process.

The APC national leader expressed optimism that Okpebholo’s leadership would usher in a period of rapid growth, peace, and development in Edo State.

He assured that the party would provide full support to the new administration, working hand-in-hand to realize the vision of a prosperous and transformed Edo for the benefit of all its citizens.

Ganduje extended his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and the Progressive Governors Forum for their unwavering support throughout the election, noting that the victory was a win not only for the APC but for the entire Edo State.

He praised the dedication and collective effort that brought about this outcome, saying it signified a major step forward for the party and the state.

According to the official results from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Okpebholo, 54, garnered 291,667 votes, defeating Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 247,274 votes.

Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP) came in third with 22,361 votes.
