Davido Stands Up for His Family After Wizkid’s Comment
Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has set the record straight about his family background, insisting that he hails from a well-respected home despite what some may believe.
Addressing misconceptions, the singer clarified that his occasional missteps in the public eye don’t reflect his upbringing or values.
During a recent visit to the Olu of Warri in Delta State, Davido emphasized the strong foundation laid by his parents.
He expressed that while his behavior as a celebrity might sometimes be viewed as questionable, it doesn’t negate the respect and proper training instilled in him.
He said, I was raised by wonderful parents and come from a respectful family, but there are times, as OBO, when I might act out of line.
The clarification comes after recent remarks from fellow artist Wizkid, who appeared to throw shade at Davido’s family.
Wizkid hinted that Davido’s upbringing was questionable, contrasting it with his own background.
He subtly criticized the viral dance videos of Davido’s uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, known for his lively dance moves, stating, When you see people raised properly, you can tell.
You won’t catch my uncle dancing online.
Davido’s comments highlight his desire to remind fans and critics alike that his public persona doesn’t always mirror his true values or family upbringing.
Despite being in the limelight and navigating the challenges that come with fame, he wanted to make it clear that his roots remain grounded in respect and discipline.
