Zamfara State Unveils Ambitious N426 Billion Budget for 2025 at Stakeholders’ Meeting
The zamfara state Government’s ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, held a meeting to discuss the 2025 budget.Held at the JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau, the state capital, this meeting was part of Governor Dauda Lawal’s “renewed hope” agenda for a transformative Zamfara.
Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning Abdulmalik Gajam, who chairs the state’s economic planning committee, emphasized that the meeting was designed to shape a budget that directly uplifts the standard of living for Zamfara residents. “This 2025 budget stakeholders’ meeting was crafted to create a solid framework for a prosperous and reimagined Zamfara State,” Gajam stated.
He revealed a proposed budget of N426 billion for 2025, marking a substantial increase from last year. Improved revenue generation has been noted this year, as several leakages were identified and addressed. Gajam highlighted the focus on capital development, with substantial projects underway, particularly in primary healthcare and education, sectors in which the state recently declared an emergency.
The Commissioner reiterated that Governor Lawal’s administration is committed to prudent resource management and accountability, with a vision to bring positive change to the people.
In a show of support, the Emirs of Zamfara, represented by Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Anka, Emir of Anka and chairman of the state council of chiefs, commended the administration’s due diligence in implementing the 2024 budget. He also praised Governor Lawal’s proactive efforts in ensuring timely pension and gratuity payments for state employees.

The pastor urges the government on steps they can take to solve and help the people of the country. “The Nigerian government has a clear and urgent duty to protect these Middle Belt communities, who have carried the weight of violence for far too long.”
“Rather than play the ostrich and cover up clear terrorism as mere farmer-herder clashes, the Nigerian state has a responsibility to invade the camps of armed marauders who hide under the cloak of herdsmen of whatever ethnicity, and who invade defenceless communities and gleefully massacre unarmed men, women and children.”
US President Donald Trump criticizes the Nigeria government once again after the increase of insecurity over the past few days. The president stated that the government is failing to protect Christian communities from the attacks going on.
“Nigeria is a disgrace. The whole thing is a disgrace,” Trump said. “They’re killing people by the thousands. It’s a genocide, and I’m really angry about it. And we pay, you know, we give a lot of subsidies to Nigeria. We’re going to end up stopping.”
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar speaks out against the rising insecurity in the country. He urged the government to take action and claimed that it is not too late to declare a state of emergency.
He reacted after another news of abduction of students was announced on the 21st of November.
“How many more lives must be shattered before decisive action is taken? It is not too late for the government to finally declare a state of emergency on insecurity and confront this menace with the urgency it deserves.”
